About Eagle Rock
TIME AND DATE Welcome to the home page of Eagle Rock Yacht Club we are located at the KBIA facilities in Kennebunk Beach Maine. We are a small organization reborn from it's origins in the 1960s,died in the 70s,and was brought back to life in the 90s.The club owns one Capri sail boat which our members can sign out under the supervision of our captain. We also have two Kayaks and a row boat for our members to enjoy.Today Eagle Rock is primarily a social organization. However just as in the 1960s iteration of the club we still have the same goal,to raise funds and support KBIA. NewsSearch for new officers.Yes our two years are up and the search for a new team of Officers is off to a shakey start. As required by the by laws a group of three in the nominating committee is charged by the Board of Governors to find the best of the best the cream of the crop of Eagle Rock members to take over. This is a big year however and there are a lot of positions to fill that must be named by the August 16th meeting. Commodore, Vice Commodore, Rear Commodore, Secretary, Treasurer, Social Chair all need new people by the meeting.Whether you are new to the club or an old hand we need help. It may seem that these events are easily thrown together. That is anything but the truth a lot of planning goes into buying the alcohol, sending invitations, coordinating with the host household. Sounds simple but takes several hours per event to set up and is costly with mailings, and resupplying the alcohol. In the end everyone has a great time and they all usually go off smoothly. But these efforts are done by volunteer members just like you, so get into the weeds and help us out!!!!!! Looking at the year ahead we need households to host parties. As described above we supply the alcohol, the participants supply the food, you supply the time and the house. Sorry no maid service. Remember whether it be Rotory, the Budget Board, Eagle Rock or any other useful endevour, membership is best done by participation!A little goes a long way and keeps others from burn out. Lets face it we all have busy lives but after an event is over your always left with a sence of pride that comes with doing something. Blessed by good weather.God spared us and deserves a huge round of applause for making the Hudson Bay upper level low that brought the region 30days of rain, go away. It did yes it was windy I went to the cove to get rocks to hold down table clothes but to feel the suns warmth on my face, that was truely priceless!!!! Let us hope we have the same luck for our next two events. Please pray to whatever god you like that this is true. Top of the pageThe Winners Are
